The new Twitter design is coming slowly to ordinary mortals. We have reviewed all the changes and will explain how they will affect your Twitter marketing strategy 

First it was just a rumor but last month, Twitter announced the upcoming launch of a new profile design (and some of its functionality). The new profile was only available for selected VIP´s, but now it is gradually updated for regular users.
For now, having the new Twitter profile is optional. It seems like Twitter will force all users to have it eventually, so it will be a good idea to start using it.

How to get the new Twitter profile


New Main features

  • Bigger profile photo: with the same proportion and overlap the cover photo.

  • Header photo: It will be bigger, horizontal, and will occupy the entire top of the page. A great advantage for brands, so make the most of it!

  • Fixed comment: the new Twitter profile allows you to highlight one of your tweets to the top of your page, so it’s clear for your followers to see what you are talking about. Seems easy but it’s not, so think about it!

  • Filtered tweets: now you can choose which type of timeline you want to check at other profiles. Select: tweets, tweets with photos/videos, tweets and replies.

  • Best tweets: the ones that have received more engagement will appear slightly larger, so your best content is easy to find. But be careful with negative engagement/comments!


Some tips for taking advantage of the new profile

  • As said before, the new header photo is a great opportunity to do almost anything

  • Use visual content, it has always worked, and now, it will be more visible than ever because Twitter places the tweets just right next to your followers, people you follow…
